Effervascent

There was a facility deep underground that once housed a great many anomalies and monstrosities. Something happened, and the facility got destroyed and the anomalies released.

Some time passed. A clockwork heart at the bottom of the facility produced a single soap bubble carrying its innermost essence—a single cog. The bubble is to carry it safely outside.

Whenever the bubble is popped, the cog falls back, all the way down, and the clockwork heart releases another bubble—another chance at success.

While exploring the facility, the player learns a little bit about the distant past—a conflict between the machine god and the blood abomination. A conflict that’s still very much alive in the halls of the derelict facility as the bubble’s enemies are all made out of blood and meat.

Controls

• Mouse movement: Direction of the propelled smaller bubble (opposite of player movement).
• Left click: Propel the smaller bubble.

Made in the Gamer Pie GGJ 2025, which is a part of Global Game Jam 2025.
